There are a number of social issues that confront the development and economic growth of billions of people  around the world. Very little design energy is devoted to solving these problems. Green LLC is committed to finding the funds and organizations willing to tackle these issues. We are committed to working with sponsors and clients to resolve some of the Big Issues as we believe that they will open up new economic opportunities for companies and people alike.
Our main area of activity is to find sustainable solutions to the lack of light and energy for the world's poor. We are also committed to working with the Millennium project to find ways to seed economic activity in developing villages. Green LLC is open to all requests for design research into social issues. |

In the past 6 months every major magazine has had either a front cover or a feature article on Sustainability, or the environment. It is big news. And so it should be. 189 countries committed to the UN Millennium goals for 2015 which include the reduction of greenhouse gases, use of fossil fuels and other environmental and social issues, the most important of which was the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. This activity started in 2000 and we are almost halfway to 2015 and there is a long, long way to go to meet the goals. The pressure is starting to mount and that signals economic opportunity.

Investigating one of the Big Issues - light for all
In this project undertaken with the Philadelphia University School of Industrial Design the problem of providing light for people that do not have access to electricity was researched. The technology exists today to meet their needs, however there are no good product solutions yet. |

Almost one quarter of the world's population, 1.6 billion people, do not have electric light. Can you imagine when the sun goes down that your day would end? Never mind that you would not see the news, surf the net or have light to go to the toilet or do your nails by! |
